Night time in Scunthorpe

Posted: August 12, 2012 in architecture, arts, landscapes, night time photography, North Lincolnshire, urban photography

Some shots I’ve taken as part of a project I working on for the www.VisitScunthorpe.Com web site.

The town’s motto is “The heaven’s reflect our labour” due to the orange glow which surrounds the town from the steel works.

In order to fund the site next year, we are putting together a calendar for VisitScunthorpe.Com showing night time shots of the town, here’s a flavor of what to expect.

If you’d like to pre-order a calendar then drop me a comment and I’ll get in touch, they will cost £12 each and should be available by October. Orders may be placed by emailing Editors@VisitScunthorpe.Com

The town’s motto is not “The heaven’s reflect our labour”, that is the motto of the steelworks. It comes from an age when slag (a by product of ironmaking) was tipped out, lighting up the sky.
